The journey of awakening intuition and self-discovery begins when we stop outsourcing answers—and start listening to the wisdom within
At some point in life, many of us ask ourselves who we truly are and what we’re doing with our lives. This question may arise about our career, family, the people we surround ourselves with, or even the environment we live in. The exact moment when we begin asking these questions is less important. What matters more is the willingness to ask these questions and, even more importantly, to find the right answers.
Through Reiki therapy, the process of awakening to the question "Who are we?", "How do we listen to ourselves?", and "What is our path, purpose, and our true talents?" is often deeply connected to the work of clearing blockages in the sixth chakra, known as the Ajna chakra, or the "Third Eye."
The Power of the Third Eye
The Ajna chakra is located between the eyebrows, and it is the first point I focus on during a Reiki session. This isn’t by accident. Awareness of reality, of who we truly are, is essential before working on the other energy centers in our body. By working with the Ajna chakra, we open ourselves up to the ability to listen to our intuition, which offers us the best guidance on where to go in life, who we are, and what our talents and potential are.
When we rely solely on the brain to make decisions, we tend to compare our current situation with what we have been taught or experienced in the past. Our brain makes choices based on patterns, comparisons, and logic that are grounded in past experiences and learned information. However, problems arise when the reality we’ve been taught and our true nature are not in alignment. In those cases, we may make rational decisions—choosing a partner, a job, a place to live, or friends—but still feel unsatisfied or unfulfilled without understanding why.
The reason for this is that we have not listened to our intuition—we’ve followed a learned program that resides in our brain, rather than the guidance that comes from within. The key to finding true fulfillment and awakening your potential lies in listening to that inner voice.
The Duality of Life and Our Path to Growth
Another essential aspect of this energy center and ensuring a free flow of energy through it is embracing the universal principle of duality. As the saying goes, “where there is light, there is also darkness.” In other words, life consists of a blend of diverse experiences, both positive and negative. When we accept all of these circumstances with the same calmness and openness, we can shine brightly.
This may seem paradoxical at first, but many illnesses—including cancer—are believed to arise from our resistance to life’s so-called "bad" circumstances. These "bad" experiences, however, are often challenges that serve as important life lessons. Without them, we wouldn’t grow or evolve.
If everything were easy and harmonious, we would have nothing to experience, overcome, or learn. These challenges exist so that we can transform, improve, and continue advancing on our path. The best way to learn and grow is through experience. And this is why we’re here—to experience, learn, and grow from our life lessons.
Once we accept this perspective, life becomes easier. Everything begins to feel more like a game, and we no longer feel anger, resentment, or frustration. The negative emotions and even physical ailments begin to disappear, as we learn to embrace every experience as an opportunity to learn and grow.
Conclusion: Embrace Your Journey
The path to awakening your true potential isn’t always straightforward, but it’s one worth pursuing. By connecting with your intuition, embracing the lessons life has to offer, and trusting the process, you’ll begin to uncover your true path and talents. Remember, it’s not about perfection or quick fixes; it’s about the journey, the lessons learned, and the transformation that happens along the way.
So, take a moment to reflect on your life, embrace both the light and the challenges, and know that everything you experience is leading you closer to the person you are meant to become.
